I live in rural New Brunswick which provides most of the subject matter of my paintings. I have a three-wheeled bicycle with a large basket on the back where I can store my paints, a chair and a table and anything else needed. When I am painting, I am in a world of pure concentration. My goal is to create spontaneous, balanced and authentic works of art with the hope that people who see my art will feel the same kind of pleasure that I do.

Mini-Painting 26 (Milkweed Pod), Watercolour, 2 1/2 x 3 1/2
Hi Joyce, sorry I haven't browsed a lot of late, continue to be distracted, but as you noticed, at least I've picked up my brushes again. Anyway...these mini paintings are fantastic! Whatever their size, they are marvelous fresh watercolours and I've enjoyed going back through posts and looking at them.
Also interested to see you went to NZ this year. My parents are regular visitors, they're off again in a couple of months, so I'm familiar with a lot of your photos from their travel photos. My brother, his wife and 3 kids also took a year off and were careening around the islands while you were there, so if you you saw any major commotions involving 3 unruly kids that was them. It looks fantastic down there, but I've never been.
Thank you, Clive, for your comments about the small paintings. They are ATC size (Art Trading Card 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 "). Yes, I visited NZ and had a wonderful time. I didn't get a chance to paint while I was there so I will be painting from photos. Didn't notice any unruly kids though!! If you get a chance to go, take it.
