My Mother's Urn, Oil on Canvas, 20 x 20

It has been four years since my mother died. She was dying through Christmas and New Years so that this time of the year brings both happy and sad memories. The one object of hers that I negotiated for (and obtained from my mother's husband) was my mother's ashes. I got them on the condition that I paid for everything concerning them!!!

Two-Abstract 2, Acrylic on Canvas, 10 x 10

Just a word about these birch trees: Someone came along last spring and burnt the grass around these trees. The trees scorched and some of the bark peeled off revealing all these interesting colours.
I hope they leaf next spring.

One-Abstract 1, Acrylic on Canvas, 10 x 10

A New Challenge: I'm going to paint a picture each day but with a difference. Each day I will paint over the painting of the day before. When (and if) I make a "keeper" then I will start a new canvas and continue to paint over it. Today's painting is the second layer for this canvas.
My palette: Primary Magenta, Primary Cyan, Primary Yellow and Titanium White.

Card 42, Watercolour, 4 x 6

This card was made by spraying paint from a toothbrush over ferns laid on homemade paper.

Card 41, Watercolour, 4 x 6

Just a note on how this painting was made. I brushed the colours on the paper, swirled the paint around and quickly put it in the deep freeze in order to create those "jack frost" images. I then traced some of the swirls with new paint.
